We've been exploring Sintra forest for over 20 years, looking for the perfect boulder

BoulderSintra

Boulder Sintra was born from the passion of a group of friends who spent their weekend’s bouldering in Sintra and which materialized in a blog founded in 2007, with the aim of documenting the boulders and sharing the new discoveries and ascends of the climbing community.

For over more than two decades of exploration and countless bouldering sessions, Serra de Sintra now have more than 1500 boulder problems spread along its 10 kilometers of extension. The undeniable scenic value of the forest, the quality of the lines, associated with the variety of shapes, colors and textures that the Sintra’s granite has to offer make this place very special.

As a result of the tireless work of Boulder Sintra, through the publication of photos and articles in national/international magazines, publication of the Sintra Bouldering Guidebook and participation in the organization of events, Sintra is currently a much sought after destination by climbers from all over the world and is considered as one of the top 10 bouldering spots in Europe.

Boulder Sintra's mission is to make this wonderful corner of our country known and contribute to the sustainable growth and development of the bouldering sport within the Sintra and Cascais Natural Park.

The guided session with Ricardo was amazing. He is incredibly knowledgeable, with lots of insights into the area and history of the local climbing scene. He is friendly, chilled and made the session really fun. He had some great climbing tips and even took me to some newly discovered lines. The experience was incredible, Sintra is a wonderful place to climb, but at the same time extremely large, which is why I think it is necessary to have a guided tour, regardless of the level of climbing that you have. Our guide Ricardo showed us beautiful places to climb Boulder, with an incredible quality of rock and a beautiful landscape, was very attentive to us, worrying about our safety when climbing and also giving us the necessary Beta to be able to reach the top of the boulders in the best way, very happy for the experience and fully recommended for anyone who wants to know Sintra Boulder spots."

I had my first outdoor bouldering experience with Boulder Sintra and it was absolutely great! Ricardo is very kind and his experience and knowledge of the area allowed him to choose boulders appropriate to the group's climbing levels: not too easy, not extremely hard, but still representing a good challenge.
